FAQ
Questions We Get Asked
The short answers. For anything specific to your project, ask us directly.
Where is my job actually produced?
By our network of partners: specialized manufacturers, each job placed with the one suited to its specifications, quantity, finishing requirements, timing and location.
Do you own manufacturing equipment?
No. Ninefold is an independent packaging sourcing and production-management partner. We specify the job, source an appropriate manufacturing partner and manage it through delivery. Not owning one set of presses lets us compare production paths rather than forcing the job onto one plant's equipment.
Who will I work with day to day?
It depends on the job. We scope and specify every project with you and match it to a manufacturing partner. Some jobs we run ourselves from start to finish. On others, once the job is in production, the production project manager at the partner works with you directly on proofs and scheduling. Either way you know who that is, and we stay involved.
How does pricing work?
A preliminary range can provide a frame of reference. A firm quote is built only after the structure, dimensions, materials, print coverage, finishing, quantity and delivery requirements are confirmed.
What quantities are a good fit?
For folding cartons, the strongest fit is recurring commercial production, often beginning around 25,000 units. The right threshold varies by structure, material and production method, so ask even if your quantity is different.
Can you handle a project with several components?
Yes. That is what the model is built for: cartons, labels, inserts, displays and kitting, sourced through one partner or several specialists and planned together, as one job or several, depending on what it takes.
What happens if something is wrong?
Tell us. We take it up with the manufacturer and come back to you with what can be done.
Can you help with a tight deadline or overflow work?
Often, yes. Because we are not limited to one plant's schedule, a job can go to a partner with the capacity to meet the date. Tell us the deadline up front and we will say plainly whether it is realistic.
Do you do design?
We can help develop or adapt package structures and production dielines. We are not a branding or graphic-design agency. We check artwork for production and say plainly when separate design work is needed.
What should I send to get started?
Whatever you have: a sample, a dieline, a spec sheet, or a description of the product and what the piece needs to do. Quantities and a target date help most. What is not decided yet becomes part of the conversation.
Already buying cartons or labels?
Send a sample, photo, dieline or specification for a second-source comparison.
