How We Work

How Ninefold Works

An independent sourcing and production-management model, with each job matched to a manufacturing path suited to it.

The Model

Your Need, Matched to a Suitable Manufacturer

You bring an existing package or a live project. We work out how it should be made, source an appropriate independent manufacturing partner, handle quoting and see production through to delivery.

The advantage is our network of partners, and knowing how to route each job to the one suited to it.

Step by Step

How a Project Runs

We Understand the Project

What it is, what it has to do, quantities, materials, finishing, deadlines and where it is going. If the specification is not settled, we help settle it, because the specification decides how the job should be made.

We Match It to a Suitable Manufacturer

Each job, or each component, goes to a partner suited to it by equipment, capability, capacity, certification and location. One capable partner where that is the best route, several specialists where it is not.

A Clear Quote and a Plan

A quote built on a clear specification, and a plan that covers every component, whether it runs as one job or several. No reconciling five formats and five sets of assumptions.

Proofs and Production

Proofs come to you, from us or from the partner's project manager, and nothing goes into production until you have approved it. We track the job through production and finishing and stay on it when something needs a decision.

Delivery and Beyond

Freight, split shipments, kitting, storage and reorders. When something is wrong, we help take it up with the manufacturer.

The Business Model

Independent Sourcing, Clearly Explained

Not Limited to One Set of Equipment

Our network of partners covers a wide range of presses, dies, board stocks and finishing, so your job isn't bent to fit one machine.

We Do Not Own the Presses

Ninefold sources production from independent manufacturers. That lets us compare production paths instead of making every job fit one plant.

Structural Help, Not Brand Design

We can help with package structure, specifications and production dielines. We check artwork for production and say plainly when graphic design is still needed.

One Commercial Relationship

We define the job, present the quote and manage the production relationship through shipment.

Why Matching Matters

Quantity, Finishing and Location Change Which Manufacturer Is Right

A short run and a hundred thousand cartons are not the same job and should not run the same way. Short runs suit digital, with no plates and no makeready. Longer runs suit offset, where setup is spread across the run. Finishing moves it again: foil, embossing, die cutting and gluing are not all done under one roof. For bulky work, the partner closest to the destination can beat a cheaper unit price once freight is counted.

A company tied to one plant has to make your job fit its equipment. We match the job to the equipment instead, which is most of the value and the reason we quote per project rather than from a price list.

Our Manufacturing Partners

How We Choose Them

Partners are matched on equipment, quality record, relevant certifications, capacity and location, and judged continually on how they perform on real jobs. Where a job needs a certified chain of custody, it goes to a partner that can carry the mark.

Where Is My Job Made?

By Our Network of Partners

Each job is placed with the partner in our network suited to its specifications, quantity, finishing requirements, timing and location. When a job warrants a press check, we arrange one.

Start with one existing package

A sample, photo, dieline or specification is enough to begin a comparison.
